Meet the Beautiful Badger – A Gentle Soul Looking for His Forever Home

Badger has found himself at WARS for a second time, through no fault of his own, first as a stray, and more recently due to a change in his owner’s circumstances. Despite life’s ups and downs, Badger remains the same gentle, affectionate, and fun-loving chap we all adore. The whole team here at WARS absolutely loves him!

Badger is the epitome of a loyal companion. He’s calm, kind, and cuddly and there’s nothing he enjoys more than snuggling up with his favourite people, especially if there’s a sofa or soft bed involved where he can really get comfortable.

At first, Badger can be a little quiet and reserved, but a few tasty treats and a bit of patience are all it takes for him to show his warm, affectionate side. Once he trusts you, he’ll quickly become your best friend.

Badger loves his walks and enjoys a relaxed potter around, particularly in the sunshine. With a little more fitness and confidence, he’d love to go exploring, perhaps up the Malvern Hills or along the coastline. Like many lurchers, he does have a mild prey drive, particularly around small furries such as rabbits and squirrels, so he should be walked on lead or on a longline when out in public. However, he’d absolutely love to stretch his legs in a secure paddock and watching him run and play with toys is pure joy.

He has a lovely level of obedience and is eager to please. He walks well on the lead, knows how to sit, lie down, and even wear a muzzle as he has a slight prey drive. He’s currently learning how to give his paw  and with his love of treats and praise, he’s always keen to learn new tricks!

Badger’s ideal home would be a calm and quiet one, with someone around for much of the day as he thrives on companionship. At the moment, he’s comfortable being left for up to around 4 hours. He may be able to live with calm, respectful children aged 10+ depending on how introductions go at the shelter, and potentially with another suitable dog following successful meets.

Badger is a truly special boy with so much love to give. He’s ready for a home where he can enjoy comfort, companionship, and a lifetime of cuddles, could that be with you?
