Meet Riley

What can we say about our Riley, a beautiful, goofy and loving boy who has found himself in our care at 10 and a half years old. Very sadly, due to a relationship breakdown in his previous home, Riley had nowhere to go and was relinquished to us here at WARS. Naturally, he is a little confused about this huge change in his life, but nevertheless has been an absolute pleasure to care for, and whoever takes on this boy for his twilight years has truly hit the jackpot.

Riley is a gentle and affectionate soul who has been super friendly with everyone he has met here. He has previously lived with young children, and we feel he could do so again provided they are comfortable with large breed (and slightly slobbery!) dogs. He will happily potter out and about where other dogs are around, but sometimes struggles with face-to-face meetings, especially with smaller dogs, due to being bitten as a puppy, therefore would prefer to be the only dog in the home but may be able to have calm and quiet walking friends. Riley could live with small pets as long as they are securely housed.

Despite being an older boy, Riley does still enjoy a gentle trot, so would like a family that are comfortable with walking him to keep him feeling good and in tip top condition. He is a super tactile boy, so someone looking for a cuddle buddy would absolutely adore Riley. Riley travels well in the car, and wouldn’t mind being taken on adventures further afield or going on travels with his new family.
