Work with us

Do you have a passion for animals and animal welfare?

We are currently looking for new committee members as well as officers to fill the roles below. If you think you could help in anyway or would like to be involved, please do get in touch.

Chair of Trustees

Worcestershire Animal Rescue Shelter (WARS), based in Malvern, Worcestershire open it’s doors to abandoned, unwanted and mistreated animals in need of urgent care. Our main aims are to give shelter, medical treatment and care, and, of course, to rehome. The Shelter is run by a full time Shelter Manager supported by 6 staff and many dedicated volunteers. WARS rehomed over 200 dogs and cats last year but we need to continue to generate income to sustain this work and then attract funds to implement our expansion plans which will increase our capability to support animals who are left abandoned or unwanted.

WARS are seeking to appoint a new Chair of Trustees in June to replace the current incumbent who has held the post for six years. A background in general management at a senior level would be required with some experience of strategic planning and governance. Previous experience of the charitable sector as a trustee and / or Committee member would be advantageous but is not essential.

The Trustees currently meet on the last Tuesday of each month from 7pm to 9.30pm. Ideally you would also have a couple of hours spare occasionally to help in other areas of the Charity, such as fundraising events, but this is not essential.

This is a voluntary role but travel expenses may be considered.

If you would like to be considered for this role please contact the current Chair Sharon Bradshaw on bradshaw.sharon@yahoo.co.uk

Thank you
