Sooty has come in from a home as she was not coping with the new baby and was become stressed. She is an absolute sweetheart of a cat. She is super friendly and just loves visitors to her pen, always making time to say a quick hello and rub all around your ankles. She is definitely a lap cat.
Sooty will need a nice quiet home where she is the only pet and with older, calm children 12+. She will want eventual access to the outdoors once she has settled and would be very happy to lounge around on as many laps that are available.
Just like dogs it is important to introduce your new cat slowly into its new environment. Choose a safe place that is traffic free to initially settle them in and provide plenty of toys for them to play and chase. Providing a scratch mat or post will help discourage them from doing so on your furniture. Until the cat has settled it is important that the cat is kept indoors for a number of weeks. This along with grooming and interactive play will help develop your bond and ensure the cat is happy and settled in its new home.
