Rodney came into WARS from another charity, after being picked up as a stray and was sadly never claimed. He is an excitable young lad with boundless energy. Being a young boy, who has had little to no training, the staff and volunteers are looking at ways to channel this energy and starting to work with him on his basic training. He enjoys meeting new dogs and certainly enjoys a good run around the coppice area, however he does need to learn that not all dogs are as bouncy as him.
Currently on foster
Rodney will want an active home where he will receive plenty of physical and mental stimulation. He could live with another suitable dog and children aged 10+, however no cats or small furries. He will need a fully enclosed garden to play in, with minimum 6ft fences. He would certainly benefit from some training classes, which would be a great way for him to bond with his new family.
Rodney is a Lurcher type. Lurchers are crossbreeds so their temperaments and behaviours can be influenced by other breed traits. Like most Lurchers, Rodney would enjoy a good snooze in front of the fire in between racing around the garden. Being young, he is still learning but is bright eager to learn more so dog training classes would be strongly advised. He, like many Lurcher types has a strong prey drive so it’s important that this is channelled in the right way.
