Oakley has come into WARS from another animal rescue after he was originally found as a stray. He had really bad skin when he was first found, but that has been treated as is cleared up now. He is a friendly boy who loves to meet people and make new doggy friends. he is very exuberant and certainly needs to learn he can’t barrel into everything at 100mph. He is in need of some basic training, which the staff are currently helping him with.
Currently on foster
Oakley would benefit from an active home where he will receive plenty of walks and physical and mental stimulation. He could live with another suitable dog, however now cats or small furries due to his lurcher prey drive. He would need a fully enclosed garden with 6ft fencing surrounding and he would benefit from being taken to training and socialisation classes by his new family.
Oakley is a Lurcher type. Lurchers are crossbreeds so their temperaments and behaviours can be influenced by other breed traits. Like most Lurchers, Oakley enjoys a good snooze in front of the fire in between racing around the garden. Being young, he is still learning but is bright eager to learn more so dog training classes would be strongly advised. He, like many Lurcher types has a strong prey drive so it’s important that this is channelled in the right way.
