Marvin came in after his family moved and sadly he was left behind. He is a big boy but a big softie. He can be a little shy, being suddenly put in a cat pen can be overwhelming. But he will soon give a welcoming squeak and come out and say hello. Marvin has unfortunately tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). This will mean Marvin will have to be an indoor only cat, as if he is let out he could pass to other cats.
Marvin will need to be an indoor only cat due to having FIV. His home will need to be fairly spacious, to give him room to wander and keep active, without going outside. We feel he would be best as the only pet in the household. He could live with children 10+
Just like dogs it is important to introduce your new cat slowly into its new environment. Choose a safe place that is traffic free to initially settle them in and provide plenty of toys for them to play and chase. Providing a scratch mat or post will help discourage them from doing so on your furniture. Until the cat has settled it is important that the cat is kept indoors for a number of weeks. This along with grooming and interactive play will help develop your bond and ensure the cat is happy and settled in its new home.
