This enclosed field, with beautiful views of the Malvern Hills, is now home to about twenty seven dogs in a purpose-built kennel block. We are raising money to build a cattery as well.
The dedicated staff and their team of enthusiastic volunteers ensure that all the dogs are given individual attention with lots of exercise and love.
The Shelter officially opened its doors to abandoned and stray animals on 9 April 2001, 18 years after the Charity was set up.
You can find us by following the sign to Deblins Green on the A449 Worcester to Malvern road between Powick and Newland.
Opening times are Wednesday - Sunday, 11am - 3pm.
Our main aims are to give shelter, medical treatment and care, and to rehome.
WE ARE PROUD OF OUR ACHIEVEMENTS ...
the purchase of six and a half acres of land
all infrastructure works carried out
the building of 21 kennels, an isolation block and a 'play-pen'
the employment of a Site Manager, Relief Manager and two Animal Welfare Assistants
the Office and Manager's house
the fencing of the entire site
caring for animals since April 2001
THE FUTURE ...
Our task is enormous - now we are operational it is essential we sustain our income to meet running costs and, most importantly, the welfare of the animals in our care.
We need to continue with the building programme for housing the animals.
Our last project was the construction of an office/reception and house for the Manager to replace the worn-out mobile homes.
The Shelter is run by dedicated people wanting to ease the distress of animals who through no fault of their own have been left abandoned or suffering.
Unwanted animals are a sad reflection on our society.
Here you can see Paul the Dogwarden bringing in another stray, luckily this one had a loving owner to go back home to.
