Dog Show 3rd June 2012

Despite the weather being very wet we managed to raise £2,211.39 which is a fantastic amount!

Miss Worcester was our special guest for the day. She is pictured to the left selling raffle tickets.
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came and supported us and to all who helped out in any way.
We would also like to thank our judges, John and Kim and there stewards as they did a great job.

August Dog Show 2011

Brentknoll Vets did a wonderful job of organising and running their Show for us.

In spite of the windy weather we raised about £1600 altogether, which is a
great addition to our funds and we are so grateful to Brentknoll for all their hard work. The cake stall was a big attraction as was the raffle which had some amazing prizes including theatre tickets and photo sessions.

Some of the gorgeous dogs who entered are shown here with their
proud owners.

Dog Show 2011

A BIG thank you to all our amazing volunteers and supporters who turned out for the dog show in spite of cold and wet weather. It was another great day for the Shelter with loads of money being raised to help our animals.

The stars of the day were of course the dogs. Not just the ones who won rosettes, but all of them who came along and behaved so beautifully. It's so good to see dogs we've rehomed coming back with their families.

First prize for Best Rescue and Best WARS dog went to dalmatian Domino as you can see on the right:

Here (on the right) you can see all three dogs lined up to receive the Best in Show rosettes, with the handsome pointer coming in first place.

And here (on the left) are some of the trailhounds who we have rehomed, in front of the Trailhound Welfare Stand.

2011 Fete

After a stormy Saturday night which threatened to blow away all our gazebos, we had an afternoon of brilliant sunshine for this year's fete, and people arrived in their hundreds. As always loads of our volunteers helped to provide a huge variety of stalls, which were all really popular, and the refreshments had a mad rush at lunch time.

The Pontiacs were here playing live, giving us a fantastic selection of 50s and 60s hits to listen to.

We would like to thank everyone who helped to make it such a successful day which raised £2545 for our animals.

Fete on 9th May 2010

The shelter held another fete this year and once again it was a big success.

The sun came out for the day and we made a fantastic £2370.36.

The staff and committee would like to thank all who helped and also everyone who came to support us.

Dog Show on 6th June 2010

The shelter annual dog show was another great day, although we did have a heavy rain shower near the end.

We had a great turn out and many people came to support us, with the shelter raising a remarkable £3,013.75!

The winner of Best in Show was Janice Hill with her dog Prada (pictured on the right).

Dog Show and  walk on 26th September 2010

A companion dog show and walk was held on Sunday 26th September 2010 at Worcester racecourse.

This was once again organised by Brentknoll Veterinary Centre in aid of WARS. Our thanks to Dave Fisher and all his staff. As a result of all their efforts we received in excess of £1,600, which is a fantastic amount.

We would like to say a special thank you to Donna Goddall for her continuous help and support.

The photo shows Domino and Deco (both from WARS) taking part in the day with owner Wayne (pictured) and his wife Rachel Daniels.

DOG SHOW SUNDAY 7th JUNE 2009

Although it rained “cats and dogs” this did not deter some of our hardened supporters attending this years Show.  The event raised £2,191.78 which was an excellent result taking account of the numbers attending and such inclement weather.   A huge “thank you” to everyone for helping on the day and also those who attended and helped us raise much needed funds.

Best in Show went to Charlie an Afgan Hound owned by Diane Larden from Droitwich, Reserve was Indie a Doberman owned by Ms M Cox from Ashford and Best Puppy was Indi a Pointer owned by Ms Stigler from Worcester.
The judging of the breed classes was ably carried out by Mr Philip Rooney with Ben, our Shelter Manager, judging the novelty classes.

Dog Show 14th September 2008

The Staff and Committee would like to thank everyone who helped to make the show so successful. We managed to raise £1,534.76

Despite the weather being overcast and the run up to the show being changeable at best, the turnout was fantastic and everyone enjoyed a great day.

The dogs all performed admirably and seemed to love the slighly muddy-under-foot conditions!

There were many winners in many catagories, but the best thing was seeing so many healthy rehomed dogs come back to see us.  Thanks again for giving so generously and we hope to see you all at the next show.
