Dog Shows

Dog Show 14th September 2008

The Staff and Committee would like to thank everyone who helped to make the show so successful. We managed to raise £1,534.76

Despite the weather being overcast and the run up to the show being changeable at best, the turnout was fantastic and everyone enjoyed a great day.

The dogs all performed admirably and seemed to love the slighly muddy-under-foot conditions!

There were many winners in many catagories, but the best thing was seeing so many healthy rehomed dogs come back to see us.  Thanks again for giving so generously and we hope to see you all at the next show.

Dog Show 1st June 2008

Our dog show this year was another huge success as we managed to raise a total of £4,381.67.

We would like to thank all volunteers for all of their support and also to everyone who attended and supported us.

[]Here you can see Lucas the Staffordshire Bull Terrier who won both the best WARS dog and the dog the judge would most like to take home.

[]Here you can see the judging taking place in the novelty ring.
The judge here is Ben the shelter Manager.

[]Here you can see Keira who came 2nd in the prettiest bitch. You can see Keira and her owner Dianne working every other Saturday at the shelter helping out on Reception.

Dog Show 9th September 2007

The Staff and Committee would like to thank everyone who helped to make the show so successful. We managed to raise an amazing £3118.28

[] There were many displays which made the day both interesting and exciting. Here you can see the D.A.F.T team doing their obedience display.
[]
Many of the dogs that have been re-homed through us came back to say hello. Here you can see Tinker, who came into the shelter in a bit of a mess, very happy and healthy with his new owner.

[]The best display of the day was definitely the flyball. Everyone really got behind all the dogs and cheered them on. As you can tell by the dogs faces they were having a great time.
[]

There were many winners throughout the day and a few cheats who were after the prizes anyway!

Dog Show 3rd June 2007

The Staff and Committee would like to thank everyone who helped to make the show so successful. We managed to raise an amazing £4293.87.

[] []Best in show went to Toby the Rough Collie who won the bed donated in memory of Karen from Pets Pantry. The best in show reserve went to Murphy the Irish Setter.

[] []The best Puppy went to Mable the Weimaraner and Eddi (a previous WARS dog) won the best cross breed.

[] [] Prince the German Shepherd won the best rescue dog and Chance (right) the Staffordshire bull terrier x won the best WARS rescue dog, while Perdy came 2nd, Poppy 3rd, Lucy 4th and Sunny 5th. However we thought they all deserved to win.
