Oscar
Elton/Oscar was rehomed in October 2009

Hi,

We recently adopted a dog from you - Oscar (or Elton as he was at WARS). He's settled in brilliantly & we're all very happy together. Thanks for looking after him for us - we think you do a fantastic job.  Please find attached some photos of Oscar which you can use on your  "Success Stories" page if you'd like to.

Keep up the good work!

Hayley
Hayley was rehomed in October 2009

I thought I would send you this photo of me with my favourite toy. I have gradually taken it apart so I could find out how the ball was attached to the rope. Mom & dad say that is typical of me, I'm very curious but they call me nosey. One of my pastimes is to look out of the landing window, I get a good view of everything that is going on outside. I also like to walk round the roads and look in everyone's garden. I enjoy my walks and one of my favourite places is the park, where I can run round with all my other doggy friends.
Love Hayley

Pluto
Pluto was rehomed in August 2009

Hi, Just thought I should let you know how well Pluto's getting on. Here are some photos of him. He's settled in well and soon became part of the family. He and Soxa are the best of friends.

Kevin
Kevin/Cederic was rehomed in July 2009

.

Hi all,

Kevin has settled in with us really well, he seems really happy to have a proper home again. He’s been really well behaved, and is well house trained, apart from when he jumps on the furniture!!! We are really pleased to have him with us, and we love taking him for long walks in the fields behind our house in the evenings. Kevin loves playing tug of war or chewing his favourite piece of rope up into tiny pieces, but he doesn’t like our neighbours cats, and has chased them all out of our garden!!!

I would like to thank everyone at the shelter who brought Kevin into our lives, keep up the good work at the shelter and we will be back (with Kevin) to see you soon!!

Bertie
Bertie was rehomed in June 2009

Thought I would let you see Bertie, at the sea!! He enjoyed the day as much as the boys did. He was jumping over waves and chasing seagulls.

I am pleased to report that he has settled in beautifully. We all adore him and want to thank you so much for thinking about us when you knew he was coming to you.
Ryan and Bertie are great pals.

Lulu
Lulu was rehomed in June 2009

Hello,

just to let you know that Lulu is settling in nicely already. She loves us all and seems very happy here.

I have attached a few photo's and will let you know more in a couple of weeks time.

Raz
Raz (called Taz at the rescue) was rehomed in May 2009

Just to let you know he is getting on great in his new home.

He goes out twice a day walkies and out and about in my van with me and he loves It
As for other dogs he is fine and has snapped at a couple but only in retaliation but he does like chasing cats, if they stop he backs of and gives in so not a problem.
He always comes back when of the lead (he doesn't like leads) and will walk to heel when of the lead.
He is a wonderful dog and we all love him to bits and are so glad we have him.
A couple of pics you might like.

Rocky
Rocky was rehomed in May 2009

Hi all, thought I would send you some pics of Rocky now he has settled in and become a loving member of our family.

He has made himself at home, loves being with us and he has always got a smile on his face.  He is spoilt rotten, but he is a very well behaved staff!  He really doesn't like being left alone, but he is getting used to it, only for short times, as I think he now knows that we are coming back and that he won't be abandoned again....

He is enjoying his new home with all of the Jordan family, loves to play in the garden and loves to be cuddled a lot and by god he gets lots of cuddles!

I have attached some pics so you can use them for you success stories. Many thanks to you all for letting us have rocky, and I knew the day I seen him, he was the dog for us! Thank you all

Kane
Kane was rehomed in March 2009.

Just to let you know that I had a visitor last week - lovely boy.   Kane is so chilled and so happy. You can see that he hates the car
 though!!!!!

Kane goes everywhere with David, has even been to the pub twice for
lunch. He just lies down by Davids feet and enjoys fuss from the locals enjoying a pint. He gets on fine with the staffie that wanders around near David's place and he even likes the big fluffy farm cat.  He has also been out with Dave with the horse.

David is over the moon with Kane, they are really good for each other.
Lovely, lovely dog.
Cheers

Giles
Giles was rehomed in February 2009.

Sorry not been in touch but Giles has taken a lot of my time !!!! well worth it though....
He has had a few ups and downs but now he is FANTASTIC !!! we love him so much we are so pleased we have him.

From Giles : I am having a great time, I go for walks everyday and they get me to do loads of things like going through Jessica's legs I love Jessica and I don't nip her anymore because she knows when I want to play...they understand me a lot more and has taken a few weeks of fun !!! but having a great time.
I love Joshua I used to nip him tooooo but now we just play loads but he is teaching me to play with a football without chewing it then I put it in a big white net and he says well done then... GOAL !!! don't know what that is all about but it is great fun !!!!
I have made loads of friends Digger is the best he is a rescue dog as well we play for hours......and hours.... I love other dogs as long as it isn't a dog called pebbles who is very small and for some reason keeps trying to nip me when all I want to do is play....Lotty is great as well we played in a big field and met loads of other dogs mommy, Daddy, Joshua and Jessica have loads of fun too except Daddy can't keep up with me when we go jogging together ha ha ha !!!! I must remember to slow down for him....
I go in the car all the time and love it Mommy and me take Joshua and Jessica to school every morning, and all the other small people come up to me and rub me I love all the attention I get !!! I
I have loads of toys and I have a huge bed that I don't sleep in, I love sleeping on the floor..... by the fridge is the best and I love digging holes for all my toys but sometimes I can't remember where I put them !!!!
I go to a class as well where I met loads of other dogs who are all posh and don't want to play but I will get them to my way of thinking ha ha !!! I do get a treat though when I do well.xxx
Thank you so much for letting me go to "The Bedfords" we are all having a great time.
So hello to Jane for me I do miss her Mommy said when I have a little more training I can go down and see you all.

Trinny/Sparkle
Trinny/Sparkle was rehomed in February 2009

Sparkle (previously Trinny) has settled in very well and here is a message from here:
Woof Woof! Hello, it’s Sparkle here!! I am enjoying my new home very much!  I have made lots of furry friends especially with one of the other dogs called Izzy who looks like a small teddy bear!!! But her daughter Rosie doesn’t seem to like me though. What’s not to like?!! I have made friends with a kitten called Sox as well but coco doesn’t like me and buttons loves me but he looks like my old puppy so he is still a bit frightened of me as I tried to pick him up.  (Big mistake as I now have a scar on my nose from him!!!!!) I am starting to behave now and don’t have to stay in my crate at night or in the daytime as I am housetrained now but people leave food on the side which I just can’t resist! I even had to have a dog trainer in called Lisa Jackson because I was soooo naughty!! But now I have learnt: Sit down, lie down, paw and nearly learnt roll over.  My favourite thing to do is go for a walk in the woods with my new doggie friend called Fred who is very crazy!  I am still learning not to play bite but am nearly there. I went to the beach which was very scary as the waves kept leaping at me!!! I can even bounce on the trampoline!! The only problem is that when I came to their house I was on a diet to put on weight but now I’m on a diet to lose weight!!! Since I moved to my new home I am a lot more confident around other people but now I have to wear a halti as I pulled so much that my lead broke!! I can’t pull at all on the halti though. Quite a lot has changed for the people I moved in with as because we’ve now all moved house which is a lot better for me as I can have a longer walk!! I’ve got to go now because its dinner time!!        Lots of cuddles and licks

Misha
Misha (Willow at the rescue), was rehomed in February 2009.

We just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone at WARS.

Misha (Willow) is settling in with us so we thought it was time to show you a few photos of her enjoying a walk in Haugh Woods.

She also has a new friend called 'Bruno'. She is a wonderful dog and all our friends and family have commented on how friendly she is.

Many thanks

Sox
Sox, was rehomed in January 2009.

Just a quick email to say that things are going a lot better with Sox, we have adopted some basic training aids i.e. shaky bottles and water spray etc to remind her of what is acceptable behaviour, however these are very rarely used not even once a week as she is well aware of the impact they have!!

We have Tom and Jerry moments in the house and garden with the cats but if she gets too close she is quickly reminded who is in charge.

She is in weekly training school now and is really beginning to show some obedience through respect rather than just doing it for a treat so fingers crossed, it is still very early days but I’m sure the pictures will demonstrate how well she is doing.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your team especially Laura who was very supportive when we reached crisis point and thought that Sox may have to return

Lenny
Lenny, was rehomed in January 2009.

We just wanted to email you a couple of pictures of Lenny (Aiedeigh as he's now called) to let you see how he's settling in!

He's been absolutely great to have around and has become a much loved member of the family. You no longer have to tempt him with treats to come on a walk... he's raring to go and quite hard to keep up with. He loves playing fetch and often comes and drops a ball at our feet! He's put on a bit of weight and his coat has improved, and seems really happy here.

Thank you!!

Bella
Bella, was rehomed in January 2009.

As you can see Bella has settled very well in her new home and came back to see everyone at the shelter to show us all how well she is getting on.

Mable
Mable was rehomed in January 2009.

Hi, it’s Mabel here!!!!!!
I am settling in very well at my new lovely home!!! It is great fun and I have lots of fuss, playtime and walks!!!!! I think I am in heaven!!!! I have a lovely warm and combatable bed with toys in it in the kitchen which I love!!!! I have gotten mum and dad to let me sleep in Emm’s room at night but the bad thing is Emm snores!!!!! I wake up Emm and James and David (her 2 brothers) in the morning!!!!
When I first got into my new home, I managed to slide along the frozen pond in the garden which scared the life out of mum!!!!! I have been to a couple of pubs and in one of them I managed to sneak behind the bar and into the kitchen!!!! I have been meeting lots of other dogs but I am mostly interested in myself at the moment!!!!! I love Emm’s guineapig called Gryff and I am very good with him!!!!! I follow Mum or Emm around the house quite a lot and then I fall asleep by them!!! I sleep loads by the fire because it is very warm and cosy!!!! When Emm goes to dancing, I sit by the front door looking out for her because I miss her so much!!!! I always let my family know when someone is at the door because I am a very good protector of the house!!! Everybody I meet loves me and says I am very well behaved which I am!!!! I am going to meet Pepper Emm’s cousins dog soon which I am looking forward too!!!!
I have sent you some photos of me settling into my new home!!!! Thank you ever so much for everything you did for me and finding me a very good and fun home with Emm and her family!!!! I really appreciate it!!!! I need to go now because I am going to find Emm so that she can fuss me!!!!!!
Lots of licks
Mabel

Xxxxxxxxxx

Tara
Tara was rehomed in January 2009.

Tara has been fantastic from day 1.  Very gentle so the boys have taken to her well, unlike the local cats who've had it easy without a dog in the garden for 2 months!  She has settled in very quickly and there have been no real troubles.  Here's a photo on her first day off the lead!

Here's Tara engaged in her favourite day time activity, looking for cats daring to walk on her garden!
