Cat Success Stories 2010

If you have any photos of the cats you have helped from W.A.R.S. , please email them to us at w.a.r.s@btconnect.com and we can proudly display them for the whole world to see!

Lucy and Kira

Lucy and Kira were rehomed in August 2010.
As you can see they are really settled and relaxed in their new home, and know all the  most comfortable places!

Gobolino and Sootica
Gobolino and Sootica, previously known as George and Molly, were rehomed in November 2010.

New update January 2013

I thought I should send in photos Gobolino and Sootica (formerly George and Molly).

Lino spends all day sleeping and all night prowling the neighbourhood. He’s very loving, but can be rather mean to his sister when it’s raining and he doesn’t want to go outside.

Sootica suffered a very bad break to one of her back paws when she was little and spent a long time recovering at the vets after they put pins in her knee and hip. She’s a very loving cat who’s a real mummy’s girl and likes to pounce on anything that moves. She’s got some interesting personality quirks in that she likes to sit with her tongue sticking out and due to her surgery always sits with one paw sticking out like a motorcycle kick stand!

I’ve attached a photo of the two of them together (which is a rare moment in itself!). Gobolino is the black and white and Sootica is the tortie.

"Just a quick email to let you know that Gobolino (bottom left) and Sootica (top left) are getting on really well. They've had their jabs and are nearly ready for their neutering (!!!).They're growing a lot and have appetites to match. They have very different personalities- Gobolino is cautious and loving to all but his sister (whom he is constantly biting or wrestling!) and is very cuddly (a real lap cat in the making) whereas Sootica is more adventurous and VERY vocal. Both are beginning to take an interest to the outside world and enjoy watching the birds through the window. I'm not letting them out until they've been neutered but thought to let them have a play in the snow which Sootica really enjoyed- Gobolino just pawed the door until he was let back in!

Gobolino and Sootica have been introduced to my neighbours' cat and dog a number of times to get them used to the concept of other animals. Squiggy, a 14 yr old tabby, spends most of his time looking disapprovingly at them like a grumpy old man and still can't make up his mind whether to cuddle up to them or rake them with his claws! Tom the chihuahua is absolutely petrified of Gobolino, who spends most of his time next door stalking and pouncing on the unsuspecting dog (who is only a fraction of a size bigger than the kitten!)

I've included a few photos of our little ones and want to say a big thankyou once again for giving us the opportunity to have such lovely little bundles of fluff in our life!"

Hi everyone

Just to let you know that I have settled in very nicely at my new house. I get lots of cuddles and I have a nice bed and lots of toys, although my favourite is a toy mouse that I like to carry around with me and sleep with.  Mummy says that I am into everything and just like a toddler.  Daddy wants to know why I can't sleep past 6.30am.  (I jump on the bed and scratch the duvet cover to wake them up).

I like to go out and roam in the garden and the field behind the house but I usually come back when I hear the box of biscuits rattling, They say I have no road sense at the moment, so they keep bringing me back every time I go out the front of the house.

I still haven't got the hang of the cat flap.  Mummy does look funny sitting out in the cold, dangling a piece a chicken, while I watch from the warmth of the house.  In the end, they open the door and give me the chicken anyway!

I've sent you some photos so you can see me lounging around.  Everyone say I am lovely with my big orange eyes.  Glad to see that Smokey & Whiskey have gone to a new home.  I will keep in touch to let you know how I am getting on.  Also wanted to say a big thank you to everyone for looking after me while I was at WARS.

love from Poppy xx

Pepper
Pepper was rehomed in August 2010

Just wanted to drop you a quick line and a few pictures to say how well Pepper is getting on.  Despite our daughter originally wanting to change her name to “Darth” (she is a mad Star Wars fan), fortunately the visits that we undertook at the centre before bringing Pepper home gave us time to convince our daughter that “Pepper” was the right name!

She is certainly a lively kitten and just loves being around people.  She is very inquisitive and gets into absolutely everything.  We spent a fortune on toys for her just before we got her, but we may as well have just got out some Lego, a cotton reel and a curtain hook!!!!

She gets on famously with our 9-year old chocolate Labrador who has now resorted to acting like a puppy again!  We also looked after a friends St Bernard a couple of weekends ago and as can be seen from the photo’s Pepper was not intimidated in any way, shape or form!

I would strongly urge people to attain their pets through W.A.R.S.  they were extremely helpful and also thorough before allowing us to have Pepper which is very reassuring.
