Doug
Doug was rehomed in January 2011
"Thought you would like to see a photo of Doug the cat who we got from you this time last year. He is a happy cat."Izzie Izzie was rehomed in December 2011
"We just wanted to make contact and let you know how Izzie is getting on since we adopted her from you in December.
She is now living
happily with our other cat and our dog. All 3 get on well - with the dog being
more scared of both cats than the other way round! Izzie always finds the sunny
spots and enjoys finding cosy places to hide! We hope that Cassie has made a full recovery now and gone
to her new home. Gengis (was Crunchie)
"We rescued a very large ginger tom cat from you in June 2011
,you called him Crunchie, but we changed it to Gengis. He is very happy and loves lots of snuggles but on his
terms.
He gets on quite well with Teddie, our yorkie dog. Many thanks for letting us have Gengis he is a classic cat full of fun and very very loved by everyone." Rosie (was Mona)
Rosie was rehomed in August 2011. As you can see from the photo, she was well and truly settled in by the time it came to playing with all the Christmas decorations!
Jack (was Flapjack) Flapjack was rehomed in July 2011
"Flapjack is settling in real well , he is the perfect cat for us . Likes lots of fuss and pampering. We call him Jack he has also doubled in size , must have been large kitten . However he is now a very mature cat ." ![]() Twinkle and Tom Twinkle and Tom were rehomed in September 2011.
They are playing
loads and chasing each other around the house, until one or the other has
enough then there is a lot of hissing and spitting – game over! Then 5 minutes
later it starts all over again" "The cats have been going
outside for a week or so now. They are loving the freedom!
Tom has been hunting and brought his victims back home! I did explain
that he needn't go to the trouble but he takes no notice :) " Tilly Tilly was rehomed in August 2011 "This is our cat success story for
little Tilly!Little Tilly has come a long way since her first day here where she spent most of it hiding under a sofa! She now happily plays with her assortment of bouncy balls and feathers whilst enjoying her scratching post too. Once a very nervous cat to a fuss pot that
happily soaks up any attention given. Tilly spends her evenings curled up on our laps watching tv and even comes to bed with us to get a few extra cuddles before sleep! First thing in the morning she is back on our bed purring away and waiting for morning fuss and breakfast! After having a go at going outside Tilly has decided that she prefers the creature comforts of staying in doors and looks after the house during the day protecting it from pesky spiders! She has also got used to being groomed and happily rolls over to make sure we get every inch! Mary Mary was rehomed in March 2011
My family chose me because I looked so pretty, seemed friendly and purred loudly. I soon settled with my two ginger cat brothers. We all sit comfortably together on the same settee, but I still like my own space. As for Pumpkin the Jack Russell, we tolerate each other well. I get plenty of creature comforts indoors and out, along with lots of love and affection. I love my family as much as they love me. I think of you often and the family have promised to support you whenever they can." ![]() Monty and Misty (were Munch and Peggy) Monty and Misty were rehomed in July 2011. It hasn't taken them long to settle! "This is a photo of Monty and Misty taking an afternoon nap on my bed. They are settling well and enjoying exploring the house. ... Thank you for letting me adopt this adorable pair, they are such good companions that I'm glad I was able to take them both." Poppy
Poppy was rehomed in June 2011 "Just to let you know I’ve settled in really well. I tested all the beds within the first 3 hours of being brought home and had great fun exploring the wardrobe! I’m getting lots of cuddles and play times, but love being inquisitive and exploring open spaces, like drawers – very comfortable to sleep in! I’m still wondering what the tumble dryer and dishwasher do, though the washing machine was a bit scary and made me jump!
I had a great first day when I was allowed out on my own, exploring the neighbours’ gardens, climbing trees, fences and sheds. I was so tired that night from being an intrepid explorer, I didn’t wake up until 9.00 am the next day. I’ve even managed to jump onto the extension at the back of my home and the garage at the front. That made my humans laugh and scared the birds! I’m slowly training my humans. As you can see from the photos, I can help with the ironing and gardening. Got to keep my humans under control and show them how to do things my way!! Finally, I just wanted to thank everyone for looking after me while I was at WARS."
Bubbles and Bobbie (Zig and Zag) were rehomed in January 2011. "We thought we would write to you to let you know how we are getting on. The humans we live with now are a funny lot. They seem to think they are in charge - how wrong they are! We have attached a couple of pictures of us. Bubbles (right) on one of the rafters and Bobbie (left) on the other rafter. Our humans don't like it when we get up here. They are frightened that we will fall down. They are so silly. Don't they realise that this is the very best vantage point! Bobbie is as daft as a brush! He thinks that his tail is some sort of
snake and spends many happy hours trying to catch it. Me, Bubbles (the more
intelligent one) loves to chase and catch flies and spiders. Then, much to the
humans disgust, I eat them! We thought you would like to know how things are. We are still working on training our humans but they are VERY slow to learn!" Update July 2011: "Hello everyone. We thought we would write to you
again to let you know how things are going in our new home. Moving itself was a nightmare! We
were stuck in a carrier in the back of a car for over 3 hours! Then when we got
to our new home we were put in a pen for the next 24 hours whilst these men
moved in the furniture and stuff. Eventually we got out of confinement
and set off to explore! Great fun. Since then it has been one big round of
people here doing all sorts of things and making so many noises it's
driving us crazy! Banging, drilling, digging - all sorts. What makes us more
cross than anything else is our slaves will not let us go outside to help
these men making all these strange noises! They say they are worried about us 'getting
in the way' of lorries and things. Us get in the way - would we even dream of
doing that? However, we are lucky now that we
can go out in the garden once all these weird men and noises have gone
home. It's great fun. We love to chase all the flies, butterflies and birds (we
can't catch the birds) and OH what a noise the birds make when we are out and
about. We have learnt to climb up the fences and go into next doors garden,
they don't seem to mind, and we frequently go for walks up the road to see what's
going on up there. Next door on the other side have 2 dogs - we don't like them
very much and we don't think they like us either. We try and avoid going in
their garden if we can but sometimes it is irresistible. They do need winding
up from time to time to keep them on their toes! Our slaves do get a bit
bothered when we go on walkabouts (as we call them) but it is fairly safe as we
live in a very quiet cul-de-sac. As for coming home - sometime we come home
when we are called but otherwise we have 'selective hearing'. When eventually
all these men and machines have gone we will get our slaves to unlock our
very own front door (cat flap) then we will be able to come and go as we please
(after THEY have taught us how to use it - as if we need teaching). Great fun.
We don't like the rain. We have been caught once or twice in that nasty wet
stuff! We come in quickly when this happens! Once in the great outdoors Bobbies
favorite place is on the roof. He is a bit of a wooz though as he has real
trouble getting down. Eventually he jumps from the conservatory roof, if one of
our slaves is not around to 'help' him down. Bubbles favorite place is on
the shed roof where she can wind the birds up. Our fence climbing is very good
but walking along the fence is still a bit wobbly. We are getting better and
with more practice we will soon be able to run along them! When our slaves are in the
garden either doing things or sitting having a rest we love to be with them to
help them do the garden or make sure they are taking notice of us and not
talking to each other or doing anything that does not involve us. In doors we
have a grand time chasing the flies and things that come in. We eat as many of
them as possible much to our slaves disgust! As it's been colder these
last couple of days there haven't been many for us to get and added to this our
slaves have brought a couple of fly catchers! They spoil all our fun! We have
already found good places to sit in the garden if it is really hot - nice and
shaded and woe-betide anyone who tries to take these places from us!" Alfie Alfie was rehomed in February 2011. "Alfie is very well and happy. He sleeps most of the day and goes out when it gets dark. His little sister is still not sure she likes him much, sometimes she's friendly then she growls at him. I think he is a bit bemused by her antics but doesn't seem to care much and will chase her about just for the fun of it now and then, so he's not bullied by her. I think neither wants to be Top Cat especially but they don't want the other one to be either! They can be quite affectionate and do the kissy thing so there is hope! ![]()
Thanks again for letting us give him a home - he is such a sweetie." | |
