Bruce found himself at the shelter as a stray. If he ever lived in a home it would have been along time ago. it seems as if he has been living on the streets for awhile. Due to that he is struggling to get used to interacting with people. He shows signs of wanting to give love but he is a nervous boy. He loveeeees a chin rub and will even walk by your and scent rub against your legs. By this we know that he has the potential to be a very cuddly cat but is a bit damaged and nervous of what humans can do.
A very gentle soul
Bruce is looking for a home that has indoor and outdoor access. As he has had fights with cats in the past so he needs to he will need to be the only pet in the household. He needs a quiet home that understands that he will take time to come out of his shell and become the cuddly boy that he is trying to be.
As he was a stray we are limiting children in the house to be 12+ a rural area is preferred but cul de sac or slow traffic area will be okay.
Just like dogs it is important to introduce your new cat slowly into its new environment. Choose a safe place that is traffic free to initially settle them in and provide plenty of toys for them to play and chase. Providing a scratch mat or post will help discourage them from doing so on your furniture. Until the cat has settled it is important that the cat is kept indoors for a number of weeks. This along with grooming and interactive play will help develop your bond and ensure the cat is happy and settled in its new home.
