Re-Homing Procedure

If you see and meet a dog you are interested in, you may then put a reserve on the dog. This entails filling out a questionaire relating to your home and lifestyle.
The staff will check through this form and tell you if the dog will be suitable.

You can not have more than one reserve on at any time, unless there are two dogs that have to be re-homed together.
If you do change your mind, please just let us know as soon as possible, so the dog will be available for other people to reserve.
You will be required to visit the dog at least 4 times in total and everyone that will be living with the dog must come and visit, including any other dogs. You must visit at least once a week.
Once you have reserved the dog, you can come down any day between 11am - 3pm to visit them.

During these visits the dog will be vaccinated, neutered, micro-chipped and flead and wormed, if not already.

After the 4 visits have been made a home check will be carried out if you live within a 35 mile radius. A member of staff will arrive at your home at a pre-arranged time and will also bring the dog along if required e.g. to meet other pets.

If the dog is brought along on the home check, is ready to go and the home is suitable, we can then complete the relevant paper work while still at your home and leave the dog with you.
If the dog is not ready to go and the home check has been passed then a date for you to collect the dog can be arranged.

If you live outside of the 35 mile radius of the shelter then we will require a vet reference written on headed paper before the dog can be re-homed.
The number of visits required if you live outside of the area will be decided by the staff depending on the dog. After we receive the reference, a day and time can be arranged for you to collect the dog.

There will be a £90 adoption fee for all dogs, this will go towards getting each dog neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, flead and wormed.
