Benedict has just come into WARS after being found as a stray and not claimed. He is a very handsome boy and a typical gentle Lurcher. He is a bit bonkers and can get easily excited whilst out on a walk, so the staff are currently helping to understand that by approaching the world in a calmer manner there can be tasty benefits.
Benedict will need a family with a fully enclosed garden, with 6 ft fences. He can be rehomed with children of a suitable age and would enjoy a family that are around most if not all of the day. He will take time to settle in a new home and may initially show some signs of separation anxiety so he will need a understanding and patient home. He could live with a compatible dog however no cats or small furries.
Lurchers are crossbreeds so their temperaments and behaviours can be influenced by other breed traits. Like most Lurchers, Rupert would enjoy a good snooze in front of the fire in between racing around the garden. Being young, he is still learning but is bright eager to learn more so dog training classes would be strongly advised. He, like many Lurcher types has a strong prey drive so it’s important that this is channelled in the right way.
