Belle has come into WARS as she was not comfortable with the children in the home. She is a lovely girl with bundles of potential. She is already happily walking with staff, volunteers and other dogs here on site. More information to follow
Currently on foster
Belle could possibly live with another dog assuming they get along, however no cats or small furries. She will need a fully enclosed garden with minimum 6ft fences surrounding. She would be best suited in an adult only home or with older, teenage children and with a family who will take her to training and socialisation classes.
Lurchers are crossbreeds so their temperaments and behaviours can be influenced by other breed traits. Like most Lurchers, she enjoys a good snooze in front of the fire in between racing around the garden. Being young, she is still learning but is bright eager to learn more so dog training classes would be strongly advised. She, like many Lurcher types has a strong prey drive so it’s important that this is channeled in the right way With Belle being part Collie, she is an intelligent girl who is loyal and very active. She likes to be busy, using her nose to track down a tennis ball that you have hidden away for her to find. She does pick up new commands easily.
